Dori Scofield-Founder
Dori has worked with animals her whole life. She founded the Sanctuary to help even more animals that are exploited and abused…Those that face certain death. Dori also runs Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue on Long Island where she has saved and rehomed over 40,000 companion animals. Her children all live on Long Island. She travels back and forth from her home in Stony Brook NY to her home in Becket, MA. Dori has 5 horses, chickens, rabbits, pigs, cats and dogs! Of course, they are all rescued!

Lee Kirschenheiter-Board Chairman
Lee has worked as a veterinary assistant and animal advocate for many years. She presently works for a large insurance company and is from Massapequa, NY. Her true love of animals and work ethic make her a friend to all creatures great and small. Lee can be found fixing a roof or transporting an injured animal at any given time at the sanctuary!

Kim Taliercio-Board Member
Kim was born with a love of animals that is immeasurable. She has been rescuing animals since she was a little girl and her huge heart and amazing writing makes her a perfect fit for the Sanctuary. Kim has been a high school English teacher for over two decades. She is a devoted dog mom and kindred spirit to all animals

Rachael Gordon-Sanctuary Manager
Rachael was born and raised in the Berkshires. She has an extensive knowledge of compassionate farm animal care. Rachael is devoted to each and every animal and gives them the utmost care. She wrangles with love, and is our resident sheep shearer. Aside from her animal husbandry talents, she is an amazing artist. Her talents are too many to add!

Tracy Macrone-Board Member
Tracy has been working in the local school district for 20 years. She is our fundraising expert and a true animal lover. She also is our resident pig fruit and veggie supplier! Tracy goes each week to pick of goodies for the pigs.

Matt Farrell-Board Member
Matt is our talented graphic artist. He is a graphic designer for a large NY company and he extends his many talents to help the Sanctuary be updated and relevant. Matt grew up near the water and lives with his girlfriend and their three legged pitbull. He has a huge soft spot for animals.
